The Department of Anesthesia of the Calumet Surgery Center provides complete anesthesia services. Anesthesia services are available to outpatients of all ages (excluding infants under 6 months), genders and races on an elective basis. Services are provided Monday through Friday.

Anesthesia services are provided by the Ambulatory Anesthesiologists of Chicago for the daily operations of the facility. These include the following:

• General
• Spinal
• Regional blocks
• Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC)

The Department of Anesthesia is directed by a Board Certified Anesthesiologist and staffed by qualified physicians. Each staff member is credentialed by the Calumet Surgery Center Credentials Committee.

An anesthesiologist is available in the surgery center prior to the start of any anesthesia procedure and is available until the last anesthesia patient leaves the facility.

Some procedures may be done with just a local anesthetic or in combination with IV Conscious Sedation.
